Reading is a fundamental skill that serves as the cornerstone of education and personal development. According to the National Achievement Survey, proficient reading skills correlate directly with academic success across subjects. A significant percentage of students in India lack basic reading proficiency, hindering their overall learning outcomes. In order to inculcate this mandatory skill in the students and in accordance with NEP 2020, A Book bin activity was introduced at GIS for grades 3-10 wherein students read and shared the books with their fellow classmates. They understand that Reading not only enhances mental abilities but also promotes empathy, critical thinking and a broader understanding of the world.
